1. Climb the Dachstein summit on the oldest via ferrata in the world
The via ferrata “Randkluft” is the oldest in the world. The geologist Friedrich Simony loved the Dachstein, but to climb the summit was way to exausting for him. So he asked at the aristocracy in Bad Ischl for 260 guilders for the purchase of iron pegs and ships ropes to build the first via ferrata ever. 1843 built the Hallstatt mountain guide Johann Wallner the first via ferrata of the Alps. Mountain guide Hans Prugger brings you safely to the summit.
2. Enjoy a day at the Ramsau Beach

3. Visit the master tailor Mathias Schrempf
Mathias Schrempf – ALPINE MODE that fits – is a tailor in Ramsau Kulm. Besides traditional costumes (Dirndl and Lederhose) a selected sportswear for men and women are offered. Mathias Schrempf is master tailor in the third generation. He works daily in the tailor workshop where he manufactures high quality single pieces in custom work for his customers. A traditional craft business in Styria.
4. Discover a treasure
For geocachers, there are more than 70 treasures to discover in Ramsau am Dachstein. Equipped with GPS device and smartphone it comes to the quest for the treasures.
5. Visit the original locations of the television series “Die Bergretter”
The ZDF series “Die Bergretter” takes place in Ramsau am Dachstein. Known locations are the mountain rescue headquarters in downtown of Ramsau, Emilies Farm (Pernerhof), Pension Marthaler (Gruberstube), Südwandhütte and Silberkarhütte.
6. Ramsau am Dachstein from the air
Take a paraglider tandem fligth from the Dachstein Glacier (X-Alps starting and turning point) to float above the Ramsau, fly with the eagles and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery. With luck and good thermals you can look from the Bohemian Forest in the north to the Triglav in the south.
7. Bible Trail Hike
Ramsau am Dachstein is a Protestant enclave with a long history. Over 200 years of Protestant faith could be lived in secret. For Bible smugglers a good deal. The Bible Trail hike from the Aualm to Gosau enters the old paths of smugglers.
Mountain biking around the Dachstein Mountains. The Dachsteinrunde is available in 3 different versions. From easy to extreme. A good alternative for citybslickers are e-bikes. A total of 20 routes are signposted in the region.
9. Kalipfad at Sattelberg
Lot of things to discover and to be astonished brings the Kalipfad at the Sattelberg. 16 stations with games and trivia from nature, comes as an easy walk. Children will not be bored and even as adult you will learn a lot.
10. Why Culinary
Also “Foodies” are well catered in Ramsau am Dachstein. The “Ramsauer Bioniere” combine good organic raw materials from field and barn with traditional cuisine. Real food!
